 League Begins September 14, 2008
 

  • League begins September 14, 2008 and runs through the week of April 3, 2009

  • January 1, 2008 is the last day to register.  After this date players must wait for the Spring/Summer 2009 to start in April.

  • 27 games including playoffs; Season will consist of two pre-season games,  23 regular season games and 2 playoffs games. (playoff format and amount of games depends on size of division)

  • All levels are non-checking, non-fighting with Skatetown and USA Hockey Rules being strictly enforced

  • 3 - 15-minute stop-time periods (game length limited to 1 hour and 15 minutes)

  • Team fee available. 

  • Players must play in 8 regular season games to qualify for the playoffs

  • All players must have a matching jersey with number

Full equipment is required, including HECC approved helmet with shield and mouth guard (face shield optional for Gold B, Gold A and Platinum leagues, but highly recommended).  All players must be 18 years of age.

* Due to certain leagues increasing in size, an additional day of play may be needed.

League Fees:  

Players looking for teams will be placed on a Free Agent List and will be contacted by individual team captains. 

Team fees will be $8,500 and must be paid by your first preseason game.  Teams paying a team fee can roster up to 18 skaters and a goalie.  Only 15 skaters are permitted on the bench during a game.  Each team is required to submit a roster, including player numbers, with their team fee.  Only names on that roster will be put on the game score sheet.  Only players on the game score sheet may participate in the game. 

 

Individual fees will be $ 620 and must be paid before their first preseason game.

 

Payment plan option:  $30 handling fee added.

$650; with $250 down, $100 due on 10/1/08; $100 due on 11/1/08; $100 due on 12/1/08; $100 due on 1/1/09

Jerseys:

Cost of team jerseys is not included in the league fees.  Each team will need to play with a team set of matching jerseys, with numbers.  Any player without a matching jersey or number will be excused from the ice.  Both light and dark jerseys are required.

Evaluation:

There will be no evaluation day or draft, unless absolutely necessary.  Based on experience, players will be placed at the proper level of play.  Management will scout teams the first two preseason games.  Based on management's assessment, players and teams will be matched up with other players and teams of equal ability to ensure a fun and challenging experience.  If you have questions about the level at which you should play call the Hockey Director at (916) 783-8550 ext. 114. 

Registration Procedures:

  • All players must fill out and sign a registration form and submit it with the team's payment prior to the first game.  Registrations will be accepted during office hours 8:00am to 5:00pm at the front counter and 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the Pro Shop or by mail -- "Attention:  Hockey Department, 1009 Orlando Ave., Roseville, CA 95661" or by fax at 916-783-9235.

Skatetown’s adult platinum hockey league is for our most advanced hockey players.  The 2008-2009 season will consist of two 14-game seasons.  Each season will consist of 14 games including playoff games.  All players must be at least 18 years of age.

All levels are non-checking with Skatetown and USA Hockey Rules strictly enforced.  Game Format: 3 - 15-minute stop-time periods (game length limited to 1 hour 15 minutes)

New Players/Player Draft: Players looking to join the platinum league must fill out and sign a registration form and submit it along with a   deposit of $100.  This draft fee will apply towards the $321 league fees for the September 15, 2008 -December 15, 2008 season. Players not placed on a team after the draft is completed will receive a full  refund.  The $100 deposit must be made no later than September 10, 2008 in order to be eligible for the draft.

All players names will go into a draft.  Team captains and Skatetown management will conduct the draft.  The draft will be completed by no later than September 12.

Gold A players are welcome to enter the draft but are not guaranteed a spot as platinum-level players will have first priority.  Only 60 players are allowed in the player pool.  Once the teams are selected, the      rosters will be frozen.

Balance of player fees ($221) are due by September 15, 2008, prior to the first game.  There will be no pro-rating of league fees. 

Management reserves the right to move players to different teams or divisions based on ability to improve parity.

The draft system may be used again for Season 2 (January 5 through April 6, 2009)

Jerseys: Cost of team jerseys is not included in the team/league fees.  Each team MUST have a team set of matching home and away jerseys with  numbers.

Rosters:  Teams can roster up to 15 skaters and a goalie.  Only 15 players permitted on the bench for any game.  If any team violates this, the game will be deemed a forfeit and the captain will be suspended. 

Any player on the ice who is not registered with Skatetown will be     considered illegal.  The game will then be declared a forfeit and the   offending team’s  captain will be suspended.

Equipment Required: Full equipment is required including HECC  approved helmet, matching jersey with numbers, shin & elbow pads, hockey pants with padding and hockey gloves.
